Dr. Lisa is a wife, mother, sister, friend, daughter, and human development and leadership professional. She is a practitioner in helping people “elevate their ordinary,” (even when raising a tween or teen). Dr. Lisa wrote her first book, “Her 12th Year: She’s not so little anymore,” based on the real conversations and experiences that created a bond of open communication and trust between her daughter, Kamaria (k-Mar-ree-a) Joy, and her.
Dr. Lisa has obtained her Doctoral degree in Organizational Leadership and Development from Grand Canyon University, her Master’s in Adult Education from Central Michigan University and undergrad in Speech Arts from Adelphi University.
The CEO of the Metro Atlanta-based, DH Elevation Consulting, Dr. Lisa is a national and international master trainer and motivational speaker. She has coached and mentored the young and young-at-heart, helping to shape their intentionality of thought and actions towards a meaningful future. Dr. Lisa’s passion is guiding youth and young adults (10-to 30-year-olds) into becoming the healthy leaders of their own lives, as they make the transitions and take their journeys toward adulthood.
“Her 12th Year” is the first book but will not be the last.
When not coaching or writing, Dr. Lisa, enjoys traveling, exploring national parks and international castles, and hosting backyard bonfires for family and friends with her husband Mark. Born and raised in Hartford, Connecticut, then moving to Georgia after graduating college, Dr. Lisa likes to say she is a GA Peach covered in CT Nutmeg.
